Tatanka is a renowned artisanal company from Martinique, specializing in the creation of hand-painted artworks on various surfaces. Since 1996, a talented Martiniquais artist has been drawing directly on glass, adopting an authentic and colorful naive art style. These unique bottles carefully illustrate iconic life scenes of the distillery, paying tribute to the rigorous work of the passionate men and women involved in crafting Neisson rums. For each special edition, three original and different illustrations are offered, highlighting this cultural and artisanal heritage.
The Neisson Distillery is located in Carbet, Martinique, a region renowned for the exceptional quality of its agricultural rums. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, it benefits from the expertise of Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, dedicated to optimizing distillation techniques. The tradition continues today thanks to his descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, who have modernized the activity while respecting family values. Since 2013, the distillery has embarked on a major transition with certified organic farming. In 2016, it launched the first organic AOC Martinique rum on the market, a pioneer in this field. Gradually, all cultivated lands, covering more than 40 hectares, have followed this ecological evolution. Thanks to years of research and innovation, Neisson now uses its own strains of indigenous yeasts, rigorously selected from those naturally present on the canes, to guarantee exceptional quality and unique typicity to its rums. The distillery applies a reasoned choice of crop varieties adapted to each plot, controlled irrigation management to preserve water, as well as efficient effluent treatment. All these efforts contribute to producing excellent agricultural rums, with deep respect for the natural ecosystem of the Neisson lands.
