LONG POND - ITP-15 - 15 years - Special Edition - John Dore Pot Still - 45.7%
\nThe Long Pond distillery, located in Jamaica, is a historic institution founded at the end of the 18th century, when a Simon Clarke, an exiled baronet, inherited the estate as a dowry upon his marriage. This unique heritage is part of a rich and fascinating history. In 1921, the estate was acquired by the company Sheriff & Co, which, through a series of acquisitions and mergers of many distilleries, transformed the property into Trelawny Estate in 1955. In 1977, the Jamaican government nationalized the industry by renaming the distillery "The National Sugar Company of Long Pond Ltd." and placed it under the aegis of the National Rum of Jamaica company, which was privatized around 1993. Today, the sugar mill and distillery belong to two distinct entities, notably with the acquisition by Everglades Farms, also owner of the famous Hampden distillery. It was not until 2012 that Long Pond rums were marketed under their own brand. Nestled in the heart of historic buildings, the distillery houses five traditional pot stills subtly adapted over the decades as well as fermentation tanks that ensure exceptional production, synonymous with authenticity and inimitable excellence.
