WESTLAND - American Single Malt - 1st Edition - Colere - 50%
The Westland distillery, globally recognized for its artisanal expertise, is located in Seattle, United States. Founded in 2010 by the talented Matt Hofmann, a passionate master distiller, this distillery stands out for using pure water sourced from the Cedar River Watershed. To craft this exceptional whiskey, seven varieties of malt are carefully selected to ensure a unique aromatic complexity. Committed to an exemplary ecological approach, the team actively participates in the Garry Oak Restoration project, a reforestation initiative involving the planting of a 4-hectare natural reserve near Tacoma, Washington.
Colere First Edition is a rare and refined expression, made exclusively from a single variety of six-row winter barley called Alba. This single malt is aged only in used barrels to minimize the impact of the wood and highlight the purity and richness of the grain. Its maturation lasted 49 months in second-fill ISC Cooper’s Reserve barrels (62%) and first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels (38%), thus imparting delicate, balanced notes and remarkable aromatic depth.
