The Buffalo Trace Distillery, iconic and historic, is located in Frankfort, in the prestigious state of Kentucky, United States. Founded in 1775, it houses one of the oldest buildings dedicated to whiskey production, dating back to 1792. During Prohibition, Buffalo Trace was granted a special permit to continue its operations to produce whiskey for "medical purposes," a rare testament to its importance and resilience. In 1992, the Sazerac Company, based in New Orleans, acquired the distillery, further enhancing its international reputation. The famous Buffalo Trace Straight Bourbon was launched in 1999, and the distillery also produces other renowned spirits such as Blanton's and W.L. Weller, recognized for their quality and unique craftsmanship.
