The Westward Distillery is located in Portland, in the heart of the United States, and is one of the major players in the production of exceptional spirits. Founded in 2004, it offers a wide range including liqueurs, whiskies, vodkas, rums, and aquavits with authentic flavors. What particularly distinguishes Westward is its artisanal and innovative manufacturing method: its whiskey is made from a base beer, created by a rigorous brewing of an American Pale Ale. For this, locally malted barley is carefully selected, accompanied by a specific beer yeast and a slow fermentation at low temperature ensuring optimal quality. Then, this brewed beer is distilled twice in custom low reflux stills, designed to extract a unique spirit, rich in character and complexity.
This American Single Malt represents the excellence and innovation of master distiller Christian Krogstad, who has created a whiskey perfectly embodying the spirit of the Pacific Northwest while drawing inspiration from the deeply rooted brewing traditions of Oregon. The whiskey is made from locally grown and malted barley, then aged in slightly toasted American white oak "Virgin Oak" barrels, bringing finesse and elegance to each tasting. This method guarantees an authentic tasting experience, blending aromatic power and subtlety, ideal for both enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
