The Westland distillery, renowned for its unique expertise, is located in Seattle, in the heart of the United States. Founded in 2010 by the talented Matt Hofmann, a passionate master distiller, this craft distillery uses pure water sourced from the Cedar River Watershed. To create its exceptional whiskies, it employs a refined blend of seven distinct malt varieties, ensuring unparalleled aromatic richness. Furthermore, the Westland team is proudly involved in the ecological Garry Oak Restoration project, which aims to restore a 4-hectare natural reserve near Tacoma, Washington, by planting Garry Oak trees, thereby contributing to local biodiversity.
Garryana 5th Edition stands out with a significantly higher proportion of Garry Oak casks in its blend, surpassing all previous editions. This exceptional whiskey subtly combines a pale malt spirit with an exclusively peated spirit, offering a complex and balanced tasting experience. Patiently aged for 45 months in a unique mix of first-fill casks, including 64% ex-Bourbon American white oak (Quercus Alba) barrels and 36% virgin Garry Oak (Quercus Garryana) barrels, this American single malt reveals deep and delicate aromas, reflecting its terroir and masterful aging.
