PLANTATION RUM - Australia - Vintage 2007 - 49.3%
The iconic story of Plantation begins in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovers the prestigious Maison Ferrand located in Cognac. Driven by a deep passion for exceptional spirits, he surrounds himself with a team of passionate experts and sets out on a quest around the world to establish a distribution network aligned with the values of authenticity and excellence of Maison Ferrand. In the 1990s, he explored the Caribbean with the innovative ambition to resell some of his used Cognac barrels to other producers, notably rum masters. This is how the unique range of Plantation terroir rums was born, which enhances the richness and diversity of Caribbean terroirs. Today, Maison Ferrand is recognized for its exceptional know-how around three major pillars: Ferrand Cognac from Grande Champagne, the French Gin Citadelle, and Plantation Terroir Rum. Furthermore, Plantation is also the exclusive owner of the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and holds a stake in the National Rum of Jamaica, which includes the Clarendon and Long Pond distilleries.
This rare edition was carefully distilled in 2007 at the Beenleigh Distillery, an undisputed reference in Australia. This exceptional rum underwent meticulous aging for 13 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, giving it a deep and balanced aromatic richness. Subsequently, it continued its refinement for an additional year at the Château de Bonbonnet, where it was aged in Ferrand Cognac barrels, bringing finesse, complexity, and delicate woody notes to this exceptional vintage.
