WEMYSS - Apple Orchard - Clynelish - Vintage 1995 - 23 years - 46%
Wemyss Malts (pronounced "Weyms' Malts") is a renowned independent Scottish bottler, recognized for its limited editions of rare and authentic whiskies. Founded in 2005 by enthusiasts William and Isabella Wemyss, the company draws its roots from the prestigious history of Scottish whisky. Indeed, the Wemyss family has been linked to whisky history since 1840, when Haig built the first distillery on their lands located in the prestigious Kingdom of Fife. These lands, rich in unique terroir, have been cultivated for decades for barley of exceptional quality, used by the best maltsters in Scotland. Inspired by his experience with master wine blenders in southern France, William Wemyss imagined bold Scottish whiskies marked by a distinct personality, while Isabella Wemyss, endowed with an expert palate and exceptional nose, selects only the Scottish Single Malts and the most prestigious casks from around the world. In collaboration with their experienced master blenders, they create whisky expressions of incomparable finesse and richness.
The Single Cask collection by Wemyss Malts has been specially designed so that each chosen and bottled cask highlights the best aromatic and flavor characteristics of its region of origin. The name given to each whisky is a true signature reflecting the olfactory notes and unique flavors captured in the bottle, guaranteeing an authentic and memorable sensory experience.
Apple Orchard, this exceptional Single Malt, was distilled in 1995 at the famous Clynelish Distillery, located near Brora, in the mythical region of the Scottish Highlands. This rare whisky was carefully aged for 23 years in carefully selected casks, giving it complexity, depth, and balance. An exclusive total of only 309 bottles was produced, reinforcing its status as a must-have collector's piece for discerning lovers of prestigious whisky.
