PLANTATION RUM - Trinidad - Vintage 2009 - 51.8 %
The prestigious history of Plantation began in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovered the renowned Maison Ferrand located in Cognac, the cradle of exceptional spirits. Driven by a deep passion, he surrounded himself with an expert team and embarked on a journey around the world to build a distribution network sharing the same values of excellence, authenticity, and innovation as Maison Ferrand. In the 1990s, he traveled to the Caribbean with an ambitious idea: to resell certain used Cognac barrels to local producers, particularly rum makers, to create exceptional spirits. In search of the best origin rums, he founded Plantation, a unique range of terroir rums crafted with artisanal know-how. Today, the Maison stands as a major player around three main pillars: Ferrand Cognac from Grande Champagne, French Gin Citadelle, and Plantation Terroir Rum. Plantation also owns the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and is a key shareholder of the National Rum of Jamaica (Clarendon Distillery and Long Pond), ensuring exceptional quality in every bottle.
This exceptional edition was distilled in 2009. This outstanding rum benefited from an extended aging of 11 years in Trinidad, in an ideal tropical climate, in carefully selected ex-Bourbon barrels to reveal all its aromatic richness. It then underwent a final maturation of one year at Château de Bonbonnet, in Ferrand Cognac barrels, thus conferring unparalleled complexity and elegance to this unique vintage.
