WEMYSS - Pies Puds and Preserves - 12 years old - Vintage 2007 - North British Single Grain - 46%
Wemyss Malts (pronounced "Weyms' Malts") is an independent bottler from Scotland renowned for its unique expertise in the whisky world. Founded in 2005 by enthusiasts William and Isabella Wemyss, this family business combines heritage and innovation. The Wemyss family has a long history connected to Scottish whisky, notably with the construction of the first distillery on their lands in the Kingdom of Fife as early as 1840 by Haig. These lands, known for decades for the cultivation of exceptional barley, continue to supply the essential ingredient to the best maltsters. Inspired by his immersion with master wine blenders from southern France, William Wemyss infused the brand with a bold vision to create Scottish whiskies with distinctive and unique profiles. Isabella Wemyss, with her discerning palate and demand for the highest quality, carefully selects Single Malts from Scotland and the finest prestigious casks from around the world. Their collaboration with experienced Master Blenders transforms these precious ingredients into remarkable creations, synonymous with exceptional flavors.
The Single Cask collection was designed so that each cask, chosen with the utmost rigor for bottling, is a true example of the most striking characteristics of its region of origin. The name given to each whisky perfectly captures the captivating aromas and unique flavors revealed upon tasting.
Pies, Puds and Preserves is an exceptional product distilled in 2007 by the famous North British Distillery. Founded in 1885 on the western outskirts of Edinburgh by three pioneers – Andrew Usher, William Sanderson, and John Crabbie – this distillery embodies a solid and recognized tradition. This whisky is a Single Grain, made exclusively from four natural and pure ingredients: crystal-clear water, malted barley, whole grains, and yeast. It was carefully aged for 12 years in hogshead casks by the Wemyss family, giving it finesse and complexity. Rarity is guaranteed, with only 338 numbered bottles produced for discerning enthusiasts.
