PLANTATION RUM - Barbados - Vintage 2011 - 51.10%
The prestigious history of Plantation began in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovered the renowned Maison Ferrand located in the heart of the Cognac wine region. Drawing on this expertise, he assembled a team of passionate individuals dedicated to excellence and embarked on a journey around the world to build a distribution network sharing the same values of authenticity, quality, and innovation as Maison Ferrand. During the 1990s, driven by his passion for exceptional spirits, he explored the Caribbean islands with the innovative idea of enhancing used Cognac barrels with local rum producers. This is how Plantation was born, an exclusive range of authentic terroir rums, revealing all the richness and diversity of Caribbean terroirs. Today, Maison Plantation is a major player in prestigious spirits, focusing on three main references: Ferrand Cognac from Grande Champagne, French Citadelle Gin, and Plantation Terroir Rum. Moreover, Plantation proudly owns the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and is a key shareholder of the National Rum of Jamaica, including the Clarendon and Long Pond distilleries, guaranteeing incomparable quality.
This exceptional Barbados rum vintage 2011 stands out for its long fermentation, combined with meticulous double distillation carried out first in a column still and then in a "Gregg Farm Pot Still," thus ensuring rich and complex aromas. It benefits from careful aging of 4.5 years under the tropical climate of Barbados in Bourbon barrels, before perfecting its maturation for an additional 4.5 years at Château de Bonbonnet, in Ferrand Cognac barrels, bringing finesse, elegance, and a unique aromatic palette. This double maturation gives this vintage a perfect harmony between power and subtlety, making Plantation 2011 an exceptional rum prized by connoisseurs.
