RUM NATION - Enmore 18 years old - Vintage 2002 - Islay cask finish - 59%
Fabio Rossi, born in 1961, is a renowned expert graduated in oenology from Conegliano, Italy. Coming from a family passionate about wine and spirits, his father Mario Jr., a pioneer since 1956, was the very first importer in Italy of the famous Laphroaig distillery, as well as prestigious brands such as Barbancourt Rum, several great Bordeaux Crus, and exceptional champagnes like Salon. Fabio grew up surrounded by rare bottles of fine wines and exceptional spirits, which fueled his passion and led him to develop his own exclusive selections of exceptional whiskies and rums.
In 1990, during a professional trip to Scotland aimed at visiting iconic distilleries and selecting exceptional casks, he discovered in whisky warehouses several old casks of Jamaican and British Guiana rums. Under the wise advice of Mr. Samaroli, a recognized expert, he learned about different production methods and styles. With this experience, he bought his first casks and bottled them, thus creating a prestigious collection of the world's finest rums. The Rum Nation brand was born in 1999, symbolizing authenticity and passion for high-quality rum.
Rum Nation's unique philosophy is based on rigorous selection and controlled aging: rums are purchased young and then aged locally for 6 to 8 years in their region of origin before being brought back to Europe for additional maturation in carefully chosen casks. This method guarantees the perfect balance between aromatic richness and gustatory complexity. Note that the labels do not mention distilleries but only the geographical origin areas, thus emphasizing the rum's terroir.
Enmore 18 years 2002 is an exceptional rum made in a wooden Coffey still, bottled at cask strength to preserve all its intensity. This rare expression benefits from an exclusive finish in a cask that previously held a peated Islay single malt, offering a subtle alliance between the rum's sweetness and the smoky power of Scottish whisky.
