The Savanna Distillery is located on the Island of Réunion, an exceptional terroir globally recognized for the quality of its rums. Founded between 1948 and 1950 by the visionary Emile Hugot, this historic distillery based in Saint Paul was originally annexed to the sugar factory of the same name. In 1982, the Savanna Distillery acquired a distillation workshop specialized exclusively in the production of light rum for export, following a strategic partnership with a major German player in the sector. This acquisition marked a decisive turning point in the technological development and qualitative diversification of its rum productions.

Today, the Savanna Distillery exports the majority of its exceptional white and amber rums to numerous international markets, winning over professionals and enthusiasts thanks to the richness of its authentic aromas. Like many traditional distilleries, Savanna uses a discontinuous fermentation, also called the "mother vat" process, based on 8 fermenters of 100 m3<\/sup> and their satellite equipment. This rigorous process guarantees the production of a rum of great quality, unique on the palate and with a powerful aromatic profile.

The Grand Arôme Lontan Rum draws its richness from the fermentation of molasses derived from local sugar canes, characterized by a non-alcohol content exceeding 800 g\/HLAP (Hectoliter of Pure Alcohol), and a minimum ester content reaching 500 g\/HLAP. This high concentration gives the rum a complex and intense aromatic bouquet, particularly appreciated by lovers of white rums with authentic and traditional flavors.
