HABITATION VELIER - Mount Gay - Vintage 2011 - 52.30%
Velier is an iconic house founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in the historic city of Genoa, Italy. Alongside Arturo Lupi, they launched in 1953 a small classic import business specializing in wines and spirits, distributing notably champagne, grappa, as well as tea and cocoa. Thanks to the strategic vision of Gian Luca Gargano, who joined the company in 1983 as marketing director of Spirit SpA (the largest Italian import company), Velier positioned itself from 1985 as a major player in the importation of premium spirits, mainly targeting restaurants and wine bars. Innovative, Velier was the first Italian company to import New World wines as early as 1988, thus marking a revolution in the sector.
Since 1992, Velier has distinguished itself by the meticulous selection of rare casks of Single Malts and exceptional rums, developing its own brand from 1995. In 2001, it offered for the first time the prestigious selection of Damoiseau rums. Habitation Velier is an innovative and ambitious project, born in 2015 from the fruitful collaboration between Luca Gargano and the best rum master distillers in the world. This unique project is dedicated to the production of Pure Single rum, where each expression of Habitation Velier reflects an original concept with exclusive distinctive characteristics, thus offering a true "world first" for each partner distillery.
Mount Gay 2011 is a premium molasses rum from the legendary Mount Gay Distillery, located in Barbados, the historic birthplace of rum. Distilled in 2011, this exceptional vintage benefited from an extended aging of 9 years directly at its production site, allowing the development of complex and refined aromas that make it a must-have among exceptional rum enthusiasts.
