HABITATION VELIER - Hampden C<>H - Vintage 2010 - 68.50%
Velier, an iconic house founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in Genoa, Italy, is globally recognized for its unique expertise in the world of exceptional wines and spirits. Alongside his partner Arturo Lupi, they launched in 1953 an import company dedicated to grand crus, offering champagne, authentic grappa, as well as rare teas and cocoas. In 1983, the strategic arrival of Gian Luca Gargano, marketing director at Spirit SpA, marked a turning point in development. From 1985, Velier established itself as the Italian specialist in importing high-end spirits, particularly for gastronomic establishments. A pioneer, Velier was the first Italian company to import prestigious New World wines in 1988. Starting in 1992, the brand committed to a rigorous selection of old Single Malt casks and exceptional rums, an initiative that gave birth to an exclusive range from 1995. In 2001, Velier successfully introduced the exceptional Damoiseau rums to the European market. Habitation Velier, launched in 2015, is the result of a passionate collaboration between Luca Gargano and the world's best rum master distillers. This prestigious collection offers Pure Single rums with each expression featuring an innovative project and unique characteristics, embodying "world firsts" for each partner distillery.
C<>H (pronounced "C Diamond H") is an exceptional rum made exclusively from molasses, distilled at the Hampden Distillery in Jamaica. It stands out for a unique concentration of esters, ranging between 1,300 and 1,400 g/HL, giving it intense aromatic complexity and a rare organoleptic signature. This 2010 vintage was carefully distilled, then aged for 10 years in its natural environment to develop richness and depth. The angel's share reached over 60%, attesting to traditional aging with a very selected concentration of powerful and subtle flavors.
