PLANTATION RUM - Fiji - Vintage 2005 - 50.2%
The iconic story of Plantation began in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel, passionate about exceptional spirits, discovered the prestigious Maison Ferrand located in the heart of Cognac. Driven by an innovative vision, he brought together a team of experts and traveled the world to create an international distribution network that shares the same values of excellence and authenticity as Maison Ferrand. From the 1990s, his journey took him to the Caribbean islands where he initiated a unique collaboration with rum producers, notably using his used Cognac barrels to enhance these spirits. This is how the exclusive Plantation range, specialized in terroir rums, authentic and unique, was born. Today, Maison Ferrand focuses its expertise on three major categories of exceptional spirits: Ferrand Grande Champagne Cognac, the French Citadelle Gin, and the prestigious Plantation Terroir Rum. Plantation also owns the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and holds a stake in the National Rum of Jamaica, which includes the Clarendon and Long Pond distilleries.
Plantation Fiji 2005 was crafted with the joint expertise of Alexandre Gabriel and Liam F. Costello. This exceptional rum is distilled entirely in triple column stills, ensuring remarkable purity and finesse. Aged for 14 years in Bourbon barrels under the unique climatic conditions of the Fiji Islands, it takes advantage of this island terroir to develop complex and intense aromas. The final blend is carefully created from 28 selected barrels, before being refined for one year in Ferrand French oak casks in the historic cellars of the Maison in Cognac. This double aging gives the rum remarkable elegance, combining woody sweetness and spicy notes characteristic of high-end spirits.
