The Foursquare distillery was founded in 1996 through the passionate drive of the Seale family and is ideally located in the southeast of the paradisiacal island of Barbados. Although it is one of the youngest distilleries in the Caribbean, its technical modernity places it among the most advanced in the world. Distillation is carried out with care, using a double column with 40 plates for optimal extraction, as well as a sumptuous double retort pot still, complemented by a small column, ensuring a unique finesse and complexity to the rums produced.
A remarkable feature at Foursquare is the direct blending of rums from both the columns and the pot still, done in barrels, which contributes to a subtle harmonization of flavors from the maturation stage. Driven by the expertise of Richard Seale, a true rum purist, the distillery refuses any artificial addition to its raw materials, thus ensuring impeccable quality and authenticity.
The Foursquare Empery cuvée is an exclusive blend of rums aged for 14 years, patiently refined in Bourbon barrels, with a minority portion aged longer in Sherry casks, bringing richness, depth, and exceptional aromatic complexity.
