ARRAN - Amarone Cask Finish - 50%
The Arran Malt is a prestigious Single Malt distillery located in the heart of Arran Island, on the picturesque west coast of Scotland. Renowned for the exceptional quality of its whiskies, this distillery offers a wide range of unique expressions and rare finishes that captivate both enthusiasts and experts. Founded in 1995, it is ideally situated in the northern part of the island, at Lochranza, close to Loch na Davie, the pure and crystalline source that supplies the entire production. Initially, the grist – the milled grain mixed with hot water to form the mash – was purchased from external suppliers. Today, an integrated mill ensures optimal control over the quality and freshness of the cereals. Arran Malt is particularly appreciated for its fresh, fruity, and tangy aromatic profile, a distinctive character resulting notably from the slow and controlled pace of distillation in traditional pot stills.
The Arran Amarone cask finish, launched on the market in 2010, appeals to connoisseurs with its maturation in second-use Amarone wine casks, a prestigious dry Italian red wine. This wine is made from the Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grape varieties, vinified from partially dried grapes, imparting rich and intense aromas. This finish brings elegant notes of ripe dates and dried figs, enhanced by a delicate rosy hue that adds a refined visual touch to this exceptional whisky.
