Compagnie des Indes - Aged Rum - Jamaica - Hampden - 9 years - 55%
\nThe Compagnie des Indes, founded in 2016 by expert Pierre Beuchet, follows the historic legacy of the famous East India companies of the 17th and 18th centuries, which revolutionized international trade of exceptional products from distant lands. The rums of Compagnie des Indes are true ambassadors of their terroir of origin, offering authentic expressions rich in character, perfect for enthusiasts wishing to discover the unique aromatic diversity of rums from around the world.
\nThe Jamaican distillery Hampden, whose history dates back to 1684 under the ownership of Thomas Goddard, is today an emblematic reference for artisanal Jamaican rums. Since its acquisition in 2009 by the Hussey family (Everglades Farms Ltd.), Hampden manages nearly 5600 hectares of high-quality sugarcane. Hampden rums stand out for their traditional heavy pot rum distillation method, recognizable by an extremely rich ester aromatic palette, guaranteeing exceptional olfactory intensity. Natural fermentations carried out from indigenous yeasts in spontaneous fermentation, in a restored historic warehouse, perpetuate ancestral know-how for a product faithful to Jamaican roots.
\nThis 9-year-old Jamaica Aged Rum therefore comes directly from the prestigious Hampden distillery. Distilled in June 2009 in a traditional copper still with one of the highest sugarcane contents, this rum then benefited from optimal aging of 9 years before being bottled in France by Compagnie des Indes in July 2018, without cold filtration to preserve all its aromatic complexity. With its powerful 55% strength, it is a "High Proof" rum from a single cask, making it a true "Single Cask" highly sought after by connoisseurs.
