Compagnie des Indes - Aged Rum - Barbados - 10 years - Foursquare - 43%
The Compagnie des Indes was born in 2016 under the passionate impulse of Pierre Beuchet. Its inspiration draws its roots from the legendary East India Companies of the 17th and 18th centuries, famous for their trade of exceptional products from all corners of the world. The rums signed Compagnie des Indes thus reflect the soul and terroir of their region of origin. These authentic spirits, rich in character, are a true invitation to a sensory and gustatory journey through the emblematic landscapes and traditions of each place.
The Foursquare distillery, founded in 1996 by the Seale family, is located in the paradisiacal southeast of the island of Barbados. Despite its relative youth, this distillery is now established as one of the most innovative and technologically advanced in the Caribbean. It combines a double distillation column with 40 plates with an elegant double retort pot still style still, complemented by a small column, to offer a unique complexity to its rums. A remarkable specificity of Foursquare lies in the direct blending in barrels of the distillates from the columns and the pot still, guaranteeing perfect harmony and exceptional aromatic richness. This distillery, led by master rum maker Richard Seale, embodies a purist approach where no additives are tolerated, thus ensuring premium quality in every bottle.
This Barbados 10-year aged rum was produced by the Foursquare distillery in December 2007. It then benefited from 10 years of aging in a single Bourbon cask, as it is a Single Cask, before being carefully bottled by the Compagnie des Indes in July 2018. This prolonged maturation gives this rum remarkable depth, finesse, and aromatic complexity, revealing rich and evolved notes that will delight discerning enthusiasts.
This limited edition is strictly limited to 375 copies, making it an ideal collector's item for enthusiasts and connoisseurs seeking an exceptional rum.
