The historical roots of the Jamaican distillery Hampden date back to 1684, originally owned by Thomas Goddard. Since 2009, this emblematic distillery has been under the control of the Hussey family (Everglades Farms Ltd.), who have preserved and enhanced its heritage. With nearly 5,600 hectares of sugarcane, Hampden Rhum Company is today synonymous with authenticity and excellence in the world of Jamaican rum. Hampden rums are still produced today using the traditional heavy pot rum method, offering an exceptional aromatic palette dominated by a richness of esters (aromatic molecules). Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in spontaneous fermentation, in a historic warehouse where ancestral tools and techniques are faithfully preserved to ensure production that is both authentic and prestigious.
Hampden <>H 66% is an exclusive offered by Habitation Velier. This exceptional rum, resulting from a double distillation carried out with Forsyths stills, is bottled at a powerful 66% ABV. This limited edition, unveiled in preview at Whisky Live Paris 2018, stands out by an impressive concentration of about 900 grams of esters per hectoliter of pure alcohol. This exceptional level gives the rum a deep and complex aromatic richness, harmoniously blending fresh herbal notes, exotic touches, and a subtle spicy intensity, offering a unique and memorable sensory experience.
