The BenRiach distillery is a renowned single malt distillery located in the heart of Speyside , Scotland , celebrated for its time-honored craftsmanship and the exceptional quality of its whiskies. Founded in 1898 on the same site as the Longmorn distillery, BenRiach draws its pure water from the underground Burnside spring, ensuring a handcrafted and authentic production of its spirits. Although the distillery has had a turbulent history – closing after only two years of operation following the whisky industry crash – BenRiach remains famous for the quality of its malt, which supplied Longmorn for several decades. Reopened in 1965 by Glenlivet Distillers, the distillery modernized and began producing peated single malt for internationally acclaimed blends in 1972. The very first whisky marketed under the BenRiach brand appeared in 1994. Following several changes of ownership, including Seagram and Pernod Ricard, the distillery was relaunched in 2004 by a passionate independent consortium, then integrated into the prestigious Brown-Forman group in 2016 along with Glendronach and Glenglassaugh, thus enriching its incredible stock of casks dating back to 1965. BenRiach is now recognized for its wide diversity of styles, offering both peated and unpeated whiskies, appreciated by enthusiasts worldwide.
BenRiach Cask Edition was distilled under the direction of Master Blender Rachel Barrie on July 7, 1997. This exceptional single malt matured patiently for 23 years in a rare virgin oak cask (cask no. 7420), imparting rich, woody, and spicy aromas, as well as impressive complexity. This ultra-limited edition is distinguished by its purity: only 248 numbered bottles were produced, making it a true collector's item for connoisseurs and enthusiasts of fine whiskies.
