Here is the return flight of this original project born in 2023 around the most exceptional of distillates of Savanna , and a meeting between two great rum enthusiasts: the Savanna team with Samuel and Michael Barbaria, the founder of Swell de Spirits . Two big names in the spirits world to make an exceptional series!
The Herr is a unique High Esters rum, as rare as it is exuberant, a true concentrate of fruit and indulgence; a fabulous invitation to travel to La Meeting .
For this second opus of the series Savanna H errline , Mika selected barrel No.215 to age for 8 years a blend of traditional rum (Colonne C20) and HERR 2009 (Alambic) to produce this TH1 . The barrels are ex-Cognac . The rum is made from Bois Rouge molasses . It was bottled at its natural strength, cask strength at 59.5% . 733 bottles were produced in total and only a very small part of this barrel will be available on the market in Metropolitan France.
Tasting note:
This new Herrline seduces from the first glance with its bright, warm copper color. The nose opens with a beautiful aromatic intensity, blending generous exotic notes with an elegant vanilla woodiness, the signature of its aging under the influence of the HERR 2009, which gives it both structure and complexity. On the palate, sweetness dominates with aromas of roasted cocoa and a skillfully measured sweetness. A slight astringency balances the whole, extending the tasting with a very nice length, punctuated by a fruity return in retro-olfaction. The finish, both invigorating and perfectly balanced, prolongs this harmonious experience where each element, from nose to mouth, comes together to offer a moment of pleasure.
