The Herr is a singular High Esters rum, both rare and bold, a true concentrate of tropical fruits and intense indulgence; a sensory and authentic invitation to an exotic journey to La Réunion, the homeland of Savanna.
For this second installment of the Savanna Herrline series, Mika carefully selected barrel No.215, in which a carefully crafted blend between a traditional rum (Column C20) and a HERR 2009 (distilled in pot still) was aged for 8 years. The barrels used are ex-Cognac casks, bringing finesse and complexity. This rum made from Bois Rouge molasses was bottled at its natural strength, cask strength at 59.5%. In total, only 733 bottles were produced, with very limited availability on the Metropolitan France market.
Tasting Note:
At first glance, this new Herrline seduces with its bright and warm copper color. The nose unfolds a remarkable aromatic intensity, generously blending exotic and fruity notes with elegant vanilla woodiness, a distinctive signature of its aging linked to HERR 2009, providing structure and complexity. On the palate, an enveloping sweetness reveals deep aromas of roasted cocoa and perfectly balanced sweetness. A subtle astringency plays the role of balancer, extending the tasting with a very beautiful length in the mouth, punctuated by a fruity return in retro-olfaction. The finish, both tonic and harmonious, prolongs this unique tasting experience where every element from nose to mouth harmonizes to offer intense and refined pleasure.
