Whisky MICHEL COUVREUR - Very Sherried 26 Years - 1998/2024 - L3326 - 50.50%
The independent bottler Michel Couvreur is recognized as a pioneer in the world of high-end artisanal whisky. Originally a producer and merchant of prestigious Burgundy wines, Michel Couvreur turned to whisky in 1978, bringing his unique oenological expertise. He first distilled at the Edradour distillery in Scotland in 1986. His original project was to acquire a Scottish distillery, but facing opposition from his wife, he chose to establish himself in Bouze-Lès-Beaune, a strategic location halfway between Scotland and Andalusia. From his Burgundy base, Michel Couvreur dedicates himself to aging exceptional whiskies, working mainly with carefully selected sherry and port casks. The range reflects great aromatic diversity, resulting from meticulous blending, rigorous selection of new casks, and mastery of innovative techniques at every stage of maturation. Since Michel Couvreur's death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra passionately and rigorously continue this unique heritage, thus guaranteeing the remarkable quality of Michel Couvreur whiskies.
This rare edition was distilled in Scotland on June 16, 1998. The whisky was then aged in Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks within Michel Couvreur's prestigious Burgundy cellars, giving this single malt an exceptional aromatic richness. Bottled with care 26 years later, on October 22, 2024, this exceptional whisky is limited to only 800 numbered bottles, making each bottle a precious collector's item for discerning enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
