Whisky MICHEL COUVREUR - Very Sherried 26 Years - 1998/2024 - L3326 - 50.50%
Independent bottler Michel Couvreur was originally a Burgundy wine producer and merchant. He turned to the world of whisky in 1978 and distilled for the first time in Edradour in 1986. At the time, he wanted to buy a distillery in Scotland but his wife opposed it and they decided to settle in Bouze-Lès-Beaune , halfway between Scotland and Andalusia, and to intervene in the maturation of whiskies; mainly in Sherry and Port casks. The range is very varied and meticulous work of blending, selection of new casks, unusual techniques is undertaken daily. Since his death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra have continued Michel Couvreur's work.
This edition was distilled in Scotland on June 16, 1998. The whisky was matured in Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks in Michel Couvreur's Burgundy cellars and bottled 26 years later, on October 22, 2024. 800 bottles were produced.
