Velier is an iconic house, founded in 1947 by Casimiro Chaix in Genoa, Italy. Alongside his partner Arturo Lupi, they launched in 1953 an import company specializing in fine wines and spirits, including the distribution of champagne, grappa as well as tea and cocoa. In 1983, Gian Luca Gargano, marketing director at Spirit SpA, the largest Italian import company, joined Velier's shareholders. From 1985, Velier focused on importing high-end spirits, mainly intended for gourmet restaurants and renowned wine bars. Innovative, Velier became in 1988 the first Italian company to import wines from the New World. Starting in 1992, Velier began the careful selection of old casks of Single Malts and exceptional rums, developing its own range from 1995. In 2001, Velier successfully introduced the first exclusive selection of Damoiseau rums, strengthening its premium positioning in the spirits world.
This Clairin Vieux Sajous is an exceptional agricole rum, produced from the distillation of Cristalline sugar canes grown on the fertile plateau of Saint Michel de l'Attalaye, in Haiti. Distilled in 2019, this rum has benefited from 5 years of aging in 21 carefully selected casks, previously containing single malt or rum, which gives it a unique aromatic complexity and depth. Its 58.30% alcohol content enhances its generous and balanced notes, perfect for discerning lovers of prestigious and authentic spirits.
