Flor de Cana - Centenario - 25 years - 40%
Flor de Caña (which literally means "flower of sugarcane" in Spanish) is a prestigious rum brand produced by the Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua, based in Managua in the heart of Nicaragua. Since 1890, this visionary company has established a vast sugarcane plantation and built the very first distillery in Chichigalpa, at the majestic foot of the San Cristóbal volcano. The exceptional fertility of volcanic soils, the purity of the local mineral-rich water, as well as the warm and humid climate typical of volcanic areas, have played a key role in developing the unique, balanced, and delicately sweet flavor profile of this exceptional rum. Founded in 1937 by the great-grandfather of the current president, an Italian immigrant who arrived in Nicaragua in 1875, the Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua today embodies a global model of sustainable and responsible practices. Certified carbon neutral and committed to fair trade, this house uses exclusively raw materials from sustainable sources, while the cane juice is extracted using 100% renewable energy. Furthermore, the natural aging of its rums is done without added sugar, and the bottling process utilizes solar energy, perfectly illustrating a strong environmental commitment.
The rum Flor de Caña is meticulously distilled five times to ensure remarkable purity and aromatic finesse. Each expression is then patiently aged in a charred oak barrel that previously held Bourbon, imparting the rum with its highly sought-after woody, vanilla, and slightly spicy notes. The contemporary range offers several collections providing a wide array of sensory experiences.
The 25-year vintage proudly belongs to the Luxe collection, the ultimate symbol of refinement and aromatic richness.
