The story of Ron Millonario begins in 1904 in northern Peru, where the Hacienda Agrícola de Chiclayo was founded in the famous "city of friendship." A collective of local farmers united to exchange their sugarcane, leading to the construction of the first artisanal refinery. In 1922, the Peruvian landowning family Piera de Castillo acquired the hacienda, the refinery, and the vast sugarcane plantation from the Gutiérrez family, thus consolidating the heritage of this region. In 1933, Don Rolando sent his eldest son Augusto to study chemical engineering at the prestigious University of Cambridge, marking a turning point in the quality and innovation of the rums produced. In the summer of 1938, a ship left London bound for Peru, carrying rare sugar mills and a Scottish column still, essential elements for perfect distillation.
