Chairman’s Reserve is an exceptional rum crafted by the prestigious St. Lucia Distillers Group Ltd on the paradisiacal island of Saint Lucia, located in the Caribbean. The Barnard family, pioneers in the art of rum since the 1930s, settled on this island to develop authentic distillation using molasses from the vast local sugarcane plantations. Facing the competitive rise of sugar beet in Europe, Saint Lucia's sugar industry gradually declined, prompting the last two distilleries to unite and form a strong joint venture, now known under the iconic name St. Lucia Distillers. Under the visionary leadership of Laurie Barnard, the tradition and aromatic richness of Saint Lucian rum were restored with the creation of Chairman’s Reserve. Since the closure of local sugar plantations in the 1960s, the distillery sources high-quality molasses imported from British Guiana, ensuring an exceptional product.

Chairman’s Reserve Original stands out through a harmonious blend of rums distilled both in pot stills and Coffey column stills. These rums age separately in ex-Bourbon oak barrels, imparting a unique complexity, before being blended and further refined for 6 additional months in oak vats, allowing the full richness and balance of this emblematic blend to be revealed. The average age of this aging is 5 years, ensuring a fine old rum, perfectly suited for enthusiasts seeking an intense and refined tasting experience.
