The Arran Malt is a prestigious Single Malt distillery located on the picturesque Isle of Arran, in the heart of Scotland's west coast. Renowned for the excellence of its handcrafted whiskies, this distillery offers a full range of unique expressions, with varied aging processes and finishes, ensuring rich and complex flavors. Founded in 1995 in the northern part of the island, at Lochranza, near the Loch na Davie, a pure and natural water source used in production, Arran combines tradition and modernity. Initially, the grist (crushed malt combined with boiling water for fermentation) was transported, but an internal mill has now been installed, ensuring optimal quality control. Arran Malt is highly appreciated for its fresh and tangy aromatic profile, the result of slow and controlled distillation within its specially designed stills.
This Sauternes Cask Finish benefits from an initial aging of nearly 8 years in American oak barrels, bringing softness and roundness, before being carefully transferred into old Sauternes casks, which impart to this whisky its gourmand, fruity, and slightly sweet nuances, characteristic of the prestigious Bordeaux sweet wine.
