KILL DEVIL - Diamond 2004 - Guyana - 17 years old - Single Cask - 55.90%
Edition Spirits is a renowned independent bottling company founded by brothers Scott and Andrew Laing in Glasgow. Coming from a prestigious lineage, they are the sons of Stewart Laing, director of Hunter Laing and former founder of Douglas Laing, two iconic names in the world of whisky and spirits. After Stewart Laing's separation from Douglas Laing in 2013, Scott and Andrew joined the family venture at Hunter Laing, where Edition Spirits became a strategic branch. The First Editions series was thus integrated into their exceptional portfolio. Specializing in Blended and Single Malt whiskies, they have also diversified their catalog with high-quality aged rums, acquired from prestigious distilleries in Guyana and Jamaica.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, Caribbean islanders referred to their local rums by the evocative name Kill Devil. While old superstitions have faded, the Caribbean region remains an essential source of rare, atypical, and historically rich rums. The Kill Devil series thus highlights the exceptional quality and diversity of Caribbean and international rums. Each Single Cask is rigorously selected to be shipped to Scotland, where it is bottled traditionally and artisanally, ensuring an authentic and exclusive experience.
This exceptional rum was distilled in July 2004 in a pot still at the famous Diamond Distillery in Guyana. It underwent a long and controlled aging of 17 years before bottling in Scotland, at Edition Spirits' expert facilities. Production is limited to only 232 bottles, giving this rum a rare and precious character, prized by connoisseurs and collectors worldwide.
