The prestigious Neisson Distillery is located in Carbet, Martinique, the cradle of tradition and innovation in the world of agricultural rum. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, this family distillery saw Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, revolutionize distillation techniques throughout his life. Today, his descendants Claudine and her son Grégory passionately and rigorously continue this legacy. Firmly committed to an ecological approach, the distillery began a major transition in 2013 towards certified organic farming. In 2016, Neisson launched the first organic AOC Martinique rum, a benchmark for discerning enthusiasts. Gradually, more than 40 hectares of its lands are now cultivated according to these sustainable principles.
After many years of thorough research, Neisson values the exclusive use of its own carefully selected indigenous yeast strains, naturally derived from the distillery's sugarcane. With a thoughtful choice of cane varieties perfectly adapted to the specifics of each plot, controlled irrigation management to preserve water resources, as well as effective effluent treatment, the distillery guarantees the production of high-end agricultural rums in perfect harmony with the natural ecosystem of its exceptional lands.
This remarkable white agricultural rum from the 2019 vintage is titled "La Coupeuse", directly referencing the traditional and meticulous gestures of the cane cutters, symbolizing the ancestral know-how passed down from generation to generation.
