Renegade Rum Distillery represents the latest project of Mark Reynier, the visionary man behind the revival of the prestigious Bruichladdich Single Malt whisky from Islay as well as the Waterford distillery, known for highlighting the unique terroirs of Ireland. For this new challenge, he carefully chose Grenada for its exceptional diversity in altitudes, microclimates, and soil types, conducive to cultivating the highest quality sugarcane. In close collaboration with the agricultural partners of CaneCo, a wide variety of sugarcanes was cultivated across the island on particularly rich and distinctive terroirs. This dynamic allowed a broad range of Grenadians — old, young, experts, or passionate amateurs — to acquire advanced skills, master modern agricultural technologies, and transform parts of the island into excellent sugarcane farms.

Pearls is a rum made from a rare variety called Yellow Lady (B89447), meticulously harvested between January 25 and 29, 2021, on the prestigious Grapefruit field. This unique terroir is located between a mangrove and a wet meadow, with at its heart a volcanic laterite particularly rich in iron, giving the rum an extraordinary aromatic complexity. The fermentation of this exceptional cane lasted 60 hours, followed by precise distillation carried out on October 29 and 30, 2021, in a traditional still. This exceptional rum was bottled at the end of June 2021, with a limited and exclusive production of 3,942 bottles, a guarantee of authenticity and superior quality.
