The prestigious Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, but it was at the end of the 19th<\/sup> century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau made a major turn by acquiring part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie, auctioned due to the deep crisis in the sugar industry. In 1895, he bought the illustrious Habitation Espérance, transforming the estate from an old sugar factory into an exceptional distillery. Today, it is with passion that François Longueteau runs this family business, the only distillery in Guadeloupe where the owner is both farmer and master distiller, thus guaranteeing artisanal quality and perfect traceability.
All Longueteau rums come exclusively from their own sugar canes, harvested and crushed the same day at full maturity, ensuring freshness and authenticity. Natural fermentation lasts 48 hours without any additives, before distillation in a 28-plate Savalle column, allowing the extraction of rich and elegant aromas while respecting the purity of the juice.
Genesis Blanc, vintage 2019, is made from the crushing and fermentation of the famous red canes (R579) grown on the estate. Distilled at 72.7%, this pure and intense rum was aged for 24 months in stainless steel tanks, then bottled at its natural strength, offering a raw column rum with fresh and vibrant notes.
Genesis Vieux, vintage 2016, also comes from the estate's red canes (R579). Distilled at 71.7%, it was aged 24 months in French oak barrels, giving it a woody complexity and great finesse. It is bottled at its natural strength, characteristic of raw column and raw barrel rums, for a unique tasting experience.
Genesis Ambré, vintage 2016, is an exceptional amber rum, made from a blend of red cane and aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels, revealing deep and intense aromas of vanilla, spices, and dried fruits.
