Deanston - 16 years old - 2002 - Organic Oloroso Finish - 50.6%
The Deanston Distillery, iconic and authentic, is located in the heart of Perthshire, in the majestic Highlands of Scotland. Its rich heritage began with the opening of a historic cotton mill, once called Adelphi. Strategically situated on the banks of the picturesque River Teith, this former factory gave rise to a community of passionate craftsmen. In 1808, the mill prospered greatly, driven by a growing workforce, prompting the owners to build an independent village housing 300 workers, which still forms the living heart of the village of Deanston today. Uniquely, Deanston was the first industrial entity to issue its own currency. When the cotton industry declined in the 1960s, the mill gradually closed before being converted into a distillery from 1974, giving birth to the renowned Deanston Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The pure and crystalline water comes directly from the River Teith, while the malted barley is rigorously selected from local farmers, then ground and carefully hand-tested. The whisky is distilled twice in large traditional copper stills, then diluted with natural water from the River Teith to ensure exceptional purity and quality.
Deanston Organic Oloroso Cask Finish is an exceptional single malt, distilled in 2002 and carefully aged for 16 years. It benefits from a specific additional 2-year maturation in casks that previously held organic Oloroso Sherry, imparting rich and elegant notes to the whisky, combining intensity and subtle sweetness. This rare and prestigious limited edition is limited to only 528 bottles, making this whisky a treasure for discerning enthusiasts and collectors.
Non-Peated – This whisky offers a pure and delicate experience, highlighting natural flavors without peat influence, ideal for those seeking finesse and elegance in every tasting.
