ARRAN - 8 years old - Vintage 2011 - Peated First Fill Bourbon Single Cask - 54%
The Arran Malt is a renowned Scottish Single Malt distillery located on the Isle of Arran, in the heart of Scotland's picturesque west coast. It offers a wide range of exceptional whiskies, with unique expressions and diverse finishes, tailored for discerning enthusiasts. Established in 1995 in the northern part of the island, at Lochranza, near Loch na Davie – a source of pure water essential to the quality of its malts – the distillery values a rigorous artisanal process. Initially, the grist (ground grain mixed with hot water for mashing) came from external suppliers, but it now has an internal mill, ensuring optimal control. Arran Malt is particularly known for its fresh, delicately tangy aromatic profile, resulting notably from the carefully controlled slow distillation in its traditional stills.
This signature Arran expression is an exclusive bottling created for La Maison du Whisky via Clos des Spiritueux. From a unique Single Cask (#11\/1844), this whisky was distilled in October 2011 and patiently matured for 8 years in a peated ex-Bourbon cask, bringing remarkable smoky depth and subtly peated complexity. Only 207 bottles were released, making this single malt a sought-after rarity for collectors and enthusiasts.
Slightly Peated – A perfect balance between aromatic finesse and smoky character.
