The renowned Caroni Distillery was established in 1918 in the State of Trinidad & Tobago (Trinity), an iconic cradle of quality rum. This unique state-owned distillery has its own sugar mill, ensuring an exclusive supply of raw materials thanks to exceptional locally grown sugarcane. Equipped with a variety of sophisticated equipment, including traditional column and pot stills, Caroni is one of the most legendary and secretive distilleries in the rum world. Very few of its rums have been marketed under its own label, making each bottle a coveted rarity. These spirits stand out for their complex and inimitable aromatic profile, blending powerful notes of hydrocarbons, soft spices, and a delicate touch of honey. Unfortunately, the major crisis in the sugar industry led to the distillery's closure in 2002, causing the rarity and value of these uniquely characterful rums to skyrocket and enter legend.
Basdeo “Dicky” Ramsarran, the iconic master distiller who worked for 20 years at Caroni, signs this exclusive small batch of six barrels, fully aged in Trinidad & Tobago, representing one of the youngest vintages of this iconic distillery.
Dayanand “Yunkoo” Balloon, a passionate distiller with 10 years of experience at Caroni, saw this rare batch carefully selected on April 12, 2019, by Luca Gargano, in collaboration with 26 true Caroni rum aficionados, thus guaranteeing exceptional quality and authenticity.
Balas “Brigade” Bhaggan, who dedicated 14 years to the distillery, is behind this unique small batch, also fully aged in Trinidad & Tobago, showcasing Caroni’s ancestral know-how and aromatic richness.
