The Reimonenq Distillery is located in Sainte Rose, in Guadeloupe, a region renowned for producing exceptional agricole rums. Founded in 1915 by Joseph Reimonenq, the story began with the purchase of an old cocoa and medicinal plant plantation from Doctor Diavet. Joseph then undertook clearing work to transform this land into sugarcane fields and built an originally wooden distillery. A true visionary, Joseph Reimonenq, then employed in the banking sector, simultaneously managed the negotiation of rum sales to mainland France as well as the administrative management of the distillery. His brother, Fernand Reimonenq, handled the agricultural and day-to-day management of the estate.
A strategic partnership with André Bon enabled the distillery to be equipped with a modern steam engine and an efficient mill, significantly improving production quality. A few years later, André Bon retired to Bordeaux where he specialized in the trade of sugar and rum, continuing his influence in the sector.
After Fernand's death, his son Léopold Reimonenq took over, continuing to uphold the family tradition of recognized artisanal expertise. In 1970, a fire tragically destroyed the distillery, but the family quickly rebuilt the facilities. By 1974, rum production resumed to offer high-quality spirits combining tradition and innovation.
The 9 Year Old Aged Rum Cuvée Prestige from the distillery benefits from a long and controlled 9-year aging in oak barrels, allowing the rum to develop complex aromas and incomparable aromatic richness. This maturation gives the aged rum exceptional smoothness and subtle notes of wood, vanilla, and spices, making this cuvée a must-have for connoisseurs and lovers of refined spirits.
