PLANTATION RUM - Jamaica - Vintage 2003 - 49.5%
The exceptional story of the Plantation brand began in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovered the prestigious Maison Ferrand located in Cognac, the true cradle of French expertise in spirits. Driven by a deep passion, he quickly surrounded himself with a team of passionate experts and embarked on a journey around the world to find the best distribution partnerships, sharing the same values of authenticity and excellence as Maison Ferrand. From the 1990s, his quest led him to the Caribbean islands where he planned to enhance certain used Cognac barrels with the best local rum producers.
Thus was born the exceptional Plantation Rum range, a unique collection of terroir rums embodying the richness and diversity of the producing islands. Today, Maison Ferrand focuses its expertise and know-how on three major families of prestigious spirits: Ferrand Grande Champagne Cognac, French Citadelle Gin, and of course Plantation Terroir Rum. In parallel, Plantation also owns the famous West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados and is a key shareholder of the National Rum of Jamaica, including the Clarendon and Long Pond distilleries, a guarantee of quality and authenticity for its exceptional rums.
The Jamaica 2003 is a remarkable creation designed in collaboration between Alexandre Gabriel and Luc Satgé, the undisputed master and guardian of the Plantation cellars for over ten years. This rare rum, distilled in 2003, underwent a rigorous aging of 16 years in Bourbon barrels on the island of Jamaica, before being refined for a full year in the traditional cellars of Maison Ferrand in Cognac. This meticulous process gives this rum an exceptional aromatic profile, blending finesse, depth, and complexity, for an unforgettable tasting experience.
