Elixir Distillers was founded as Speciality Drinks in 1999 by the brothers Sukhinder and Raj Singh, market pioneers who also launched the famous online sales platform Whisky Exchange the same year. The company adopted the name Elixir Distillers in 2017 to better reflect its commitment to excellence and innovation in the world of spirits. Elements of Islay is a prestigious collection of Islay Single Malt whiskies, passionately crafted by Elixir Distillers since 2008, offering an authentic and refined experience to whisky lovers.
Each whisky in the range is carefully selected and bottled at natural strength, cask strength, without chill filtration or added coloring, thus respecting traditional methods and guaranteeing a pure and intense taste. Without age indication, each bottling fully reflects the unique essence. Presented as single cask or in batches composed of five to twenty casks from the same distillery, these whiskies precisely express the distinctive and typical character of Islay malt distilleries. The name of each edition is inspired by a modified chemical symbol evoking the source distillery, with numbered iterations for later versions of the same exclusive production.
In 2016, Elixir Distillers launched a revolutionary permanent expression without age statement, simply called Peat. This iconic edition is made from a rich blend of about 60 casks selected from the northern and southern distilleries of Islay, offering a complex and balanced peated experience, perfect for connoisseurs seeking authenticity and aromatic depth.
