MONTEBELLO - 10 years - Cuvée Jack - 42%
The Montebello rum is an exceptional agricole rum carefully crafted by the renowned Carrère distillery located in Petit-Bourg in Guadeloupe. This distillery, better known as the Montebello distillery since 1975, takes its name from the historic region where it is established. Founded in 1930 by the Dolomie family, it preserves an ancestral know-how in the production of authentic agricole rums. Since December 2011, Grégory and Dominique Marsolle have passionately continued to lead this emblematic family business.
Innovative and environmentally respectful, the Montebello distillery began a unique ecological approach in 2012 by recycling all the "waste" from sugarcane crushing. Thus, it uses dry bagasse (the cane residue) as a natural fuel to produce the steam that powers the presses crushing the cane. This sustainable process is an integral part of its eco-responsible philosophy.
The particularity of Montebello rum also lies in the rigorous selection of hand-harvested canes, exclusively from the rich and fertile volcanic lands of the municipalities of Petit-Bourg, Goyave, Basse-Terre, Lamentin, and Sainte-Rose. This traditional harvest guarantees the purity and authenticity of the aromas. Moreover, the Montebello distillery is one of the last in the Caribbean to use ancestral steam machines, thus reinforcing the authenticity and richness of its agricole rums.
Choosing this rum means opting for a unique tasting experience, combining traditional know-how, premium quality, and respect for the environment, symbolizing the best of Guadeloupean agricole rum.
