The Foursquare distillery, founded in 1996 by the Seale family, is located in the southeast of Barbados. Although relatively young, it is today one of the most prestigious and technologically advanced distilleries in the Caribbean. It brilliantly combines tradition and modernity thanks to a double column still with 40 plates as well as an elegant double retort pot still equipped with a small column. A distinctive feature of Foursquare is the direct blending aging of distillates from column and pot stills in barrels, a refined method that gives its rums unparalleled complexity and richness. Under the rigorous direction of Richard Seale, a convinced purist, no chemical additives are tolerated, thus guaranteeing rums of exceptional purity and quality.
Patrimonio 58% is a unique and subtle blend made from the best rums of the legendary Foursquare distillery, carefully bottled by Velier for the most demanding enthusiasts. The finesse of this rum lies in a masterful blend of two exceptional barrel maturations: a 14-year-old rum aged exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels, combined with another rum aged 10 years in ex-bourbon barrels before refining for an additional 4 years in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks. This 100% tropical double maturation provides a perfect balance between the vanilla and woody sweetness of bourbon and the delicate fruity and spicy notes of sherry.
