The Compagnie des Indes was born in 2016, driven by the passionate vision of Pierre Beuchet. Inspired by the prestigious East India Companies of the 17th and 18th centuries, specialized in trading rare and exceptional products from all over the world, the brand places authenticity and the richness of terroirs at the heart of its philosophy. The Compagnie des Indes rums are thus unique creations, revealing with intensity and precision the singular character of their origin, a true invitation to a sensory journey to the heart of the lands where they were born.
The Foursquare distillery, established since 1996 in the southeast of the island of Barbados, comes from the family expertise of the Seale family, recognized for their quest for perfection in the art of rum. Despite its youth, Foursquare has established itself as one of the most innovative distilleries in the Caribbean thanks to cutting-edge technology. Distillations are carried out either in a double column with 40 plates or in a sublime double retort pot still equipped with a small column. A unique technical signature: the blends of distillates from these two distillation methods are made directly in barrels, giving the rums an extraordinary aromatic complexity. Under the rigor of master distiller Richard Seale, each production is a hymn to purity, without any additives, guaranteeing a rum of exceptional quality.
Compagnie des Indes Barbados Foursquare 10 years cask strength is a true treasure for lovers of exceptional rums. This Single Cask, from a single barrel (number BFD27 for connoisseurs), stands out by its bottling at cask strength at 62.1%, without dilution, offering incomparable aromatic power and gustatory richness. Distilled in December 2007, this rum benefited from a prolonged aging of 10 years in a tropical climate before being brought back to France where Clos des Spiritueux took care of its careful bottling in July 2018. This limited edition promises an authentic experience, combining sobriety, complexity, and finesse.
