LONGROW - 100° Proof - Bottled in 2024 - 57.1% ABV
The Springbank Distillery is one of the last authentic craft distilleries in the iconic Campbeltown region, located on the Kintyre peninsula in the southwest of Scotland. This historic distillery produces exceptional Single Malt whiskies under three prestigious brands with unique profiles: Springbank, Longrow, and Hazelburn. Founded in 1828 by visionaries Archibald and Hugh Mitchell, Springbank is the 14th licensed distillery in Campbeltown and remains one of the few establishments to have survived numerous changes, alongside Glen Scotia. To this day, it is still owned by the direct descendants of the founders, ensuring a family tradition and expertise passed down through generations. Springbank is recognized in Scotland for fully controlling its production on-site, from traditional barley malting to final bottling, guaranteeing unparalleled quality and perfect traceability. This level of mastery allows the creation of three distinct whisky styles, each influenced by the careful selection of casks and the unique maritime climate of Campbeltown. The parent company JA Mitchell & Sons also revived the Glengyle distillery in 2004, where Single Malts are produced under the Kilkerran label. The group also owns the renowned independent bottler Cadenhead’s.
The highly peated expressions are offered under the Longrow brand, a symbol of bold production since 1973, the year the first bottles were distilled to demonstrate that it is possible to produce Single Malts on the mainland that rival the peated and powerful whiskies of Islay.
This limited edition of Springbank 30 years benefits from exceptional aging in Bourbon casks (85%) and Sherry casks (15%), offering rare aromatic richness and deep complexity, thus appealing to discerning enthusiasts and collectors.
