The Neisson Distillery is located in the heart of Carbet, right in the center of Martinique, a region famous for its unique terroir and traditional know-how. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, this family distillery has passed down its passion and expertise through generations. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, dedicated his entire life to perfecting ancestral distillation methods, thus ensuring impeccable quality and incomparable aromatic richness. Today, his descendants Claudine and then her son Grégory continue this family adventure with the same commitment. Since 2013, the Neisson Distillery has embarked on an exemplary transition towards certified organic farming, culminating in 2016 with the launch of the very first organic AOC Martinique rum, offered to discerning enthusiasts worldwide. Gradually, more than 40 hectares of terroirs now benefit from this innovative ecological approach. After many years of rigorous research, Neisson has developed and exclusively uses its own strains of indigenous yeasts, carefully selected from those naturally present on the sugarcane of the estate. Each plot is cultivated with a reasoned choice of the agricultural varieties best suited to its pedoclimatic profile, coupled with precise and sustainable irrigation management to preserve water resources. An efficient ecological treatment of effluents also helps protect the local environment. All these efforts are part of a pursuit of excellence aimed at producing high-end agricultural rums, in perfect harmony with the precious ecosystem of the Neisson lands.
