The Pokeno Distillery is located on the North Island of New Zealand, a region renowned for the purity of its natural resources. Founded in 2018 by Matthew Johns, an expert with over 25 years of experience in the whisky industry, this craft distillery prioritizes authenticity and local terroir. The raw materials used are carefully selected from three family farms located in the Canterbury region on the South Island, thus guaranteeing exceptional grains. Additionally, the spring water used in the production of these whiskies comes directly from the surrounding volcanic mountains, ensuring unmatched purity that positively influences the quality of the final product.

The Discovery blend is distinguished by its aging in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, which brings freshness and intensity to the aromas, followed by a delicate maturation in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, imparting rich and velvety notes characteristic of exceptional fine whiskies. This combined aging offers a perfect balance between sweetness, complexity, and aromatic depth, ideal for enthusiasts seeking a unique tasting experience.
