Père Labat is a prestigious brand of agricultural rums from the island of Marie-Galante, renowned for its exceptional terroir and traditional expertise. The history of this emblematic distillery dates back to the 18th century, when Madame Poisson acquired the estate, then a simple sugar factory located in the heart of Marie-Galante. At the beginning of the 20th century, Mr. Rameau took over the estate, bringing major improvements and investing in a still and a red copper Creole column, symbols of optimal distillation quality. These innovations transformed the Poisson Estate from a sugar factory into a renowned distillery. He also chose to pay tribute to a pioneer of fresh cane wine distillation techniques: Père Labat, a historical and legendary figure of agricultural rum. The exceptional rums crafted according to tradition, the signature of the Poisson distillery, are thus named "Père Labat rums" in his honor.
The Family Reserve, formerly called Special Cuvée, embodies elegance and aromatic depth. It is a refined blend of rums patiently aged between 4 and 6 years in selected wooden barrels, allowing the development of complex aromas and a beautiful roundness on the palate.
