GLENALLACHIE - 8 years - Koval Rye Quarter Cask Wood Finish - 48%
The GlenAllachie is an iconic distillery located in Aberlour, in the heart of the prestigious Speyside region in Scotland. Founded in 1967, this distillery began production in February 1968 with an impressive capacity of nearly three million liters of alcohol per year. After a period of inactivity starting in 1985, GlenAllachie was successfully relaunched by Campbell Distillers (later Pernod Ricard), marking a return to continuous production for 29 years. The distillery then adopted the evocative nickname The Home of Clan Campbell Whisky. In 2005, Chivas Brothers introduced a GlenAllachie Single Malt in their highly prized Cask Edition series. More recently, in 2017, renowned experts Billy Walker, Trisha Savage, and Graham Stevenson joined forces to acquire the distillery and create The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Limited, bringing with them over a century of experience and excellence in the Scottish spirits industry.
GlenAllachie Koval Rye Quarter Cask 8 years is an integral part of the exclusive Wood Finish collection. This rare whisky was first aged in premium American oak casks before benefiting from a unique finishing in smaller casks, called organic rye quarter casks, sourced from the renowned Koval distillery in Chicago. The use of these small casks significantly increases the wood-to-liquid ratio, thereby intensifying the spicy notes particularly typical of rye, giving this GlenAllachie an exceptional aromatic complexity and a rich, balanced flavor profile.
