GLENALLACHIE - 11 years - Wine Serie Grattamacco - 48%
The GlenAllachie is an iconic distillery located in Aberlour, in the heart of the prestigious Speyside region in Scotland. Founded in 1967, it began production in February 1968 with an impressive capacity of nearly three million liters of alcohol per year. After a pause in 1985, the distillery was acquired by Campbell Distillers (future member of the Pernod Ricard group), relaunching continuous production for 29 years. Nicknamed "The Home of Clan Campbell Whisky," GlenAllachie has established itself as an essential reference in the world of whisky.
In 2005, Chivas Brothers introduced the GlenAllachie Single Malt within the prized Cask Edition series. Since 2017, Billy Walker, Trisha Savage, and Graham Stevenson, with over 100 years of combined experience in the industry, have taken over the distillery to found The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Limited, further strengthening the reputation and quality of this exceptional brand.
The Wine Serie Grattamacco aged 11 years stands out for its unique double maturation. First aged in American oak ex-Bourbon casks, it then benefits from an additional maturation of nearly 2 years in certified organic barrels, heated at medium temperature and carefully selected from the prestigious Grattamacco vineyard estate, located in the renowned Bolgheri region of Tuscany, Italy. This technique imparts the whisky with exceptional aromatic richness and unique complexity, subtly blending fruity and spicy notes.
