Tatanka is an exceptional artisanal company based in Martinique, specializing in hand-painted works on a variety of surfaces. Since 1996, a talented Martinican artist has been creating directly on glass pieces in a unique naive art style, paying tribute to the authentic life scenes of the distillery. These exclusive bottles passionately embody the meticulous work of the men and women involved in the artisanal production of Neisson rums. Each special edition offers three original illustrations, making each bottle a piece of artistic and cultural collection.
The Neisson Distillery, an iconic figure in agricultural rum, is located in Carbet, Martinique. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, this family distillery is based on expertise passed down with rigor and innovation. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, innovated by perfecting traditional distillation techniques. His succession by Claudine and then his son Grégory illustrates the continuity of a family passion. Since 2013, the distillery has committed to a transition to organic farming, culminating in 2016 with the release of the first organic AOC Martinique rum, recognized for its excellence. Today, more than 40 hectares of cultivation benefit from this sustainable and respectful agriculture. Thanks to years of research, Neisson exploits its own strains of indigenous yeasts, meticulously selected from the sugarcane on the estate. The careful choice of cane varieties adapted to each plot, optimal irrigation management to preserve water resources, as well as ecological treatment of effluents, illustrate Neisson's strong commitment to producing high-end agricultural rums in perfect harmony with the local ecosystem.
