Tatanka is a renowned artisanal company from Martinique, specialized in creating hand-painted art on various surfaces. Since 1996, a Martinican artist has been illustrating directly on glass, in an authentic naive art style, unique bottles that depict traditional moments of distillery life. These artistic works pay a vibrant tribute to the passionate work of the men and women who contribute to the making of the prestigious Neisson rums. For each limited edition in the collection, three different original illustrations are revealed, making each bottle a highly sought-after collector's item.
The Neisson Distillery, located in Carbet in Martinique, was founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, dedicated himself to perfecting distillation processes to enhance the quality of the rums. Today, his descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, proudly continue this family tradition. Committed to a sustainable organic agriculture approach since 2013, the distillery launched in 2016 the first organic rum benefiting from the AOC Martinique designation. Gradually, more than 40 hectares of farmland have been converted to this responsible cultivation. After many years of research, Neisson exclusively uses its own strains of natural indigenous yeasts, rigorously selected from those present on the sugarcane of the estate. Furthermore, a meticulous choice of crop varieties adapted to each plot, optimized irrigation management to preserve water, as well as ecological treatment of effluents contribute to producing exceptional agricultural rums respectful of the natural balance of the Neisson land ecosystem.
This exceptional white rum vintage 2019 bears the evocative name "La Lavandière", symbolizing the heritage and know-how of Martinique passed down from generation to generation.
